2015 Hay Festival

The line-up for this year’s Hay Festival has just been announced. It runs from Thursday, May 21 to Sunday, May 31 at Hay-on-Wye, a pretty little town near Hereford, and in these days of dwindling bookshops, it boasts 20-odd second-hand bookshops. There’s something for everyone at the Festival but I would highlight:
– Actor Alan Cumming talking about his memoir and an abusive father.
– Helen MacDonald discussing her odd but highly regarded novel, H is for Hawk about how she overcame grief following her father’s death by training a hawk.
– Neil Gaiman writes comics, books, films and songs but here he will talk about his dear friend and collaborator, Terry Pratchett.
– John Boyne, author of the The Boy in Striped Pyjamas in discussion with Hay Director, Peter Florence.
