James Patterson Donates £50,000

On World Book Day, James Patterson, the highest paid author in the world, has donated £50,000 prize money to be split among some of the 800 schools who entered the World Book Day competition for library funding over two years. This will enable a handful of schools who win a prize, to expand their libraries. Last year, JP donated £130,000 to 73 small bookshops in the hope of inspiring children to become lifelong book readers.
